If I had to choose one look for Jean, as the prototype, I think I would have to choose her Marvel Girl costume. Sure, the Phoenix costume has all the flash and that defines her more than anything, but seeing Jean in the Marvel Girl costume harkens back to a simpler time for her and her merry band of mutants. Plus, I am a sucker for miniskirts.

Thought I’d share these with you. These are pics of me from Halloween 2009 but this costume I originally made for San Diego Comic Con 2009 (just improved it for Halloween).  The gloves, stockings, and green leotard I got from one site and matched it with a sash from another.  Then just made the emblem with paint and stretchy gold fabric.  Pretty easy, in the end! – Carolyn

Can there be a more perfect family? Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Wolverine (the black sheep obviously) phoenix and dark phoenix.

You have to love the commitment from a family willing to go all out like this.

This original, hand-made Phoenix costume is from Sarah Downey. Thanks for sending in this incredible Phoenix craftsmanship. I think this costume would have looked great in the movies. Too bad they went for the all leather look instead. Please send in any of your original costumes and we will post them on the site.

Mr. Moog has done the unthinkable and portrayed himself as Phoenix. I must admit he did a great job with Photoshop though. You can check out more of his personal take on more X-men characters.
